Founder - Andy Kaver

During his 18+ year legal career, Andy has represented municipalities, companies, and individuals in a variety of transactional and litigation matters. He is a trusted legal and business advisor with a goal of helping clients come up with creative solutions to achieve their desired results.

Starting as a trial attorney on behalf of New York City’s Administration for Children’s Services in Brooklyn Family Court, Andy was responsible for over 125 cases at any given time. Following his work for NYC, Andy started his own practice representing individuals and businesses in civil, criminal and family courts throughout NYC and the NY metropolitan area. In addition, Andy began representing startup companies and helping to guide them in all aspects of their businesses.

In 2011, Andy moved to Los Angeles to pursue new opportunities and was quickly hired to be the lead New York attorney for a Los Angeles-based law firm. Over the next four years, he was responsible for building up the NY practice and supervising other attorneys and staff as they advised individuals and businesses (including dozens of startups) on issues including corporate formation, real estate leases and purchases, employee matters, and obtaining and protecting trademarks and copyrights. During this time, Andy became licensed to practice law in California in addition to New York.

Before forming Pierview Law, Andy worked for boutique and national firms in LA and the South Bay, focused mainly in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, corporate transactions, business formations, intellectual property (IP), litigation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Throughout that time, Andy has had the opportunity to advise corporate directors, officers, and employees on matters including mergers and acquisitions, vendor and supplier agreements, real estate sales and leases, equity and asset sales, governance, employment and regulatory issues, and other matters as outside general counsel. This has included representing purchasers of a longstanding Los Angeles newspaper, the seller of a specialized aerospace parts manufacturer, and obtaining trademark and copyright registrations for clients in the entertainment, vintage clothing, hospitality, and other industries.

On the real estate side, Andy has experience working with buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, common interest developments, lenders, and title and escrow companies through the US in relation to sales and acquisitions, leases, construction, financing, title, and other matters. Andy has guided the seller of a mobile home park in Washington, represented he purchaser of an apartment building in the South Bay, advised the non-profit seller of a college campus, acted as outside counsel for a global logistics company in their leasing of over 3 million square feet (in addition to their general corporate matters), and represented a commercial real estate owner in its combined $120M+ of acquisitions, sales and leases throughout United States. In addition, Andy has been called upon to assist with resolving complex title and related issues for a variety of commercial properties.

Andy has represented clients in court, arbitration and mediation proceedings throughout Southern California, and has experience guiding cases from initial complaint filing through discovery and resolution (and everything in between). In addition, Andy has appeared before administrative agencies and local governments, including regulatory bodies and city councils, to assist clients with obtaining licensing, regulatory approval, and architectural approvals. Andy is a zealous advocate for his clients but is also realistic as to what can be accomplished, and always balances client goals with timing, cost, and other factors that may affect the outcomes of their matters.
